We've got worms!

The Inuvik Youth Centre is housing a box of red-wriggler worms from the Inuvik Greenhouse for the winter to experiment with vermicomposting.  The worms eat food waste such as fruit and vegetable peels and cores, coffee grinds, tea bags and egg shells and then make nutrient-rich soil that can be used for composting. It's a great way to reduce waste sent to the garbage dump and to produce soil, which is really lacking up here.

It looks gross, but is really cool! Come check it out or bring by your own compostables. Keep our worms well-fed!
